Sandy has been a part of Karlyn’s Gallery for 12 years. She was the gallery manager before semi-retiring in 2008. She now helps out around the gallery and puts together the original paintings on cards, using up the stock of Karlyn’s “Old Dogs” (unsuccessful paintings). An artist herself, Sandy uses pastels, watercolor paint, pen with ink and mosaics to capture nature in art.

Hello. I recently graduated from UW-Superior with a BA in Visual Arts with an Emphasis on Art History, a degree that qualifies me to either marry British royalty or to chase down stolen artworks for the FBI. While that second one sounds interesting, I’ve decided instead to work at Karlyn’s Gallery. I’m a second-generation photographer; I try to concentrate on metal and fiber art, but being exposed to beautiful paintings leads me astray pretty regularly. Books are a thing in my house, as is the cat, Katniss (Oh, come on – what choice did we have?), who routinely proves that contrary to scientific thought cats do have a theory of mind. “Human, don’t mess around give me the catnip NOW! And put that striped blanket there, because I look good on stripes and I want to lie down on it.” (I think she needs a nice puppy to play with.)
